what a heart both of these men show
-
Why did Hearns choose to fight so much on the inside? He's a boxer not a brawler.
-
Thomas was a big ass hole
-
Fuck, that right hook to the body countering the left at 5.50 is awesome!
-
This is the prime example of an ageing fight for boxer, Hearns was in great shape, boxed brilliantly in patches and was always competitive but took a beating and lost the fight. No boxer will come back from that mentally or physically at the age he was. Hearns was a superb boxer I think his main floor was a slightly suspect chin but he fought such great opposition it might just be he got nailed by excellent fighters at the top of their game

if iran ever fought a prime tommy he would have gotten his head knocked clean off

@HoustonTexasBoxer Duran and Hearns are both Quality, but Duran is a Great.
-
Yeah who cares who Barkley beat he was not great. Everyone beat Barkley and he got lucky with Hearns and had a good style. But when two greats Hearns and Duran fought Hearns destroyed and outclassed Duran easily.
-
And Duran gave Barkley a good beating...go figure.

You make some good points but I think ultimately when you refer to "style" regarding Iran Barkley what I think that means is, Iran was really, really tough. He could take what Tommy dished out and brought it back right at him. And Tommy never had the best chin.
It is hard to post an entire 12 round fight since I am putting alot of fights on here. The fight sort of went the same the whole time. Iran landing more punches in quantity and Tommy throwing more economically but probably landing cleaner. Iran fought his fight more than Tommy fought his.
