Milton Friedman on Donahue 1979 (2/5)

Friedman, shows why he is unsurpassed in modern times in defending liberty. He cheerfully decapitates the ideas of a government-controlled economy, over a wide range of examples. His layman's explanation as to how government intervention and the Federal Reserve control of the money supply helped cause the Great Depression is simply outstanding.

I just finished reading Naomi Klein's 'The Shock Doctrine' and started to research Milton Friedman, seeing as he is portrayed as some sort of evil ogre in her book. Low and behold, I've been watching Friedman videos for just over a week now and I completely agree with him. Naomi Klein is full of shit.

No matter what your view on this, the fact that such a big show of the time had this discussion is unbelievable. My opinion of Donahue has increased 100-fold. He had a civil discourse with a guy he may disagree with. Unbelievable. We can't have this now. Everything has to get emotional--be it Fox or MSNBC.

Plus, if you check miss Klein's resume, you'll find out that she's nothing more than an indoctrinated and half-educated "journalist" that can't stand for 2 minutes next to serious academics of economics and social sciences in general. The mob simply uses Naomi Klein's work because it mirrors their own ignorance on the matter...
