20 years as skating coach and 30 years after his infamous first world champion competition in 1980 (people actually laughed at his performance), Yao Bin's effort finally paid off today with gold and silver awarded to figure skating pairs he has coached. With winning gold and silver, China has finally broke Russia/Soviet Union's 50 year hold on Olympic gold medal in figure pair skating.

I'm so happy for Yaobin; he said he heard people laughing at him in the audience. He said he would quit skating and become a coach and create superior individuals to prove to the world China has what it takes to be successful as well; 26 years later tonight, his dreams came true for Gold and Silver awarded to China. I'm so proud... *sniff*

Bin Yao is the trainer of many wonderful pairs: Shen - Zhao, Pang-Tong, Zhang-Zhang.
