On Morning Joe Oct. 2, 2008 McCain had this exchange:
Mika Brzezinski: Senator it's Mika Brzenski here in New York and we'll be watching the debate tonight to see what happens. I want to just ask you one final question though about the bill because I think given especially what you've been just saying on our broadcast right now, why then didn't you vote against a bill that is corrupting and stand up to pork and all this spending during an economic crisis that some say this puts this country on the brink of economic disaster.
John McCain: Because of what you just said Mika that uh this bill is putting us on the brink of economic disaster.
Can you say gaffe machine? Or Freudian slip and he doesn't think it will help. I think the bill's a stinker and if people like McCain's buddy Gramm didn't help deregulate us in the first place maybe we would not be in this mess now.
Say what??? Geez, sounds like he's on the brink of a nervous breakdown.

Why? All it was going to be was more politics of fear.
Just another reason why I like Obama over McCain. I'd like to have my leader INSPIRE instead of SCARING me.

so much for that whole "I'll veto any legislation with pork or earmarks" argument... isn't it great how negotiable core principles & values can be when you just make 'em up as you go along?

could you not post more than just the soundbite? I would have liked to hear what he said after that statement...
