Definitely feel bad for the teacher here. It sounds like he acted with the best of intentions. Sure, it was probably an overreaction, but I think he was legitimately concerned for the female student's safety.

@mystupidusernameacc WHY the hell is she even reading the girls statement??? She NEVER reads witness statements, because she can't cross examine/question. As a matter of fact, in the dozens of episodes I've watched, I think this is the 1st time I've seen her accept a written statement from a witness,

Notice how, at the end, the plaintiff's father and brother do all the talking, like THEY were the ones hit. You know nothing really happened to the plaintiff at all, and that his father just wanted money.

This is so wrong. The teacher was doing what he thought was right. The student wasn't injured, but he thought the mental trauma was worth 5000? And whats worse, Judge Judy awarded the kid 2500?

So stepping in and telling a kid that hitting girls is wrong gets you punished?

The kid wasn't hurt so he wasn't hit, the medical reports didn't show anything. That he was hurt. So yeah the teacher is out $2500 for doing his job. Wow, I wonder what would of happened if he actually left a mark on the kid.

Remember kids, trying to teach kids to not go to prison will get your ass sued!

@TusNeegHaibHeev The teacher had good intentions but he inappropriately put his hands on a student which is uncalled for. Judge Judy made the right decision by penalizing the teacher and not giving the full 5 thou to the greedy father.

I think she goes on the character of individuals too. He's a teacher with no history of problems, so he likely to told the truth. There is a pre-judgement but in some respects, common sense.
