US and other western powers have been orchestrating coups and other destabilizing activities to many countries since WW2.
For example in the ME, the US has overthrown Iran's democracy in 1953, help overthrow Iraq's monarchy in '58, supported the Bath Socialist Party in the 60s/70s, got involved in Lebanon's civil war and supported Israel's apartheid regime to the tune of billions in aid per year for decades.
