Yamma Ensemble from Israel had a week-long residency in Charleston and they joined us live on the Thursday edition of "Live and Local," with music from Balkan, Gypsy, Sephardic, Yemenite and other traditions. Make sure to check out the end of this video where Jonathan demonstrates the shofar and tells a short story about the history of this animal horn instrument.

Live and Local is heard weekdays from noon to 1 pm on WILL FM 90.9. Kevin keeps you informed about local music performances by performers both local and national. The program includes interviews with the artists, as well as educators, students, administrators and audience members. You'll hear features on the many performing groups throughout our listening area, a daily calendar of music events, and (of course!) lots of music.
