@TerrasAngelsDemon And he did say something to her if you hadn't heard. He said "There was no need for that"

@TerrasAngelsDemon It's still child abuse. She had no right to hit someone else's child so to say "It was the 60s" has got nothing to do with it. Even back then they knew it was wrong. I assume it's because Vicky was really manipulative over Mitch was is a bad sign.

thanks a heap...is that country talk vicky lol

@michellica1983 I agree. I feel that Vicky's the subtler villain of the two. She seems nice enough at the beginning, if a little spoiled, but little by little the layers are peeled back to reveal a rather awful woman. In the remake, it's pretty clear from the beginning that she's going to be the antagonist. I thought Elaine Hendrix did a great job with Meredith, but she was written too over the top. Vicky is a bit more complicated.

@mikkijeanee08 Yeah, I just notice that people kind of jump on board and feel what a movie WANTS them to feel about a character and they don't really take a step back to analyze it for themselves. And I think this is a major reason why the remake of The Parent Trap with Lindsay Lohan gives the stepmother a sincerely sinister streak, pulling out all the stops.

@michellica1983 I understand what you mean...but you're overlooking the fact that the real Vicki was revealed in short order. She was controlling, manipulative, devious and given the fact that she slapped one of the twins...ABUSIVE! But hey...it's just a movie right?

Vicky (1961) and Meredith (1998) are so evil!!!

Shit, people, put yourselves in the chick's shoes. I know she's the villain and all, but in this movie she was really just the wrong guest at the wrong party since the girls needed her out of the picture. She tried to be nice and talk to Mitch's daughter about the situation and she was kind and sensitive, till she saw how the girl was being. Why's everyone hatin' on Mitch for not defending the girls? I think a MAN should defend his WOMAN. Instead he says "They didn't do anything to you!" Right!

Man, if somebody slapped me, my daddy would beat the crap outta them!! Well, probably not if she was a woman, but he'd send her packing!!!! He'd do a lot more than mitch did!
