na it's probably from the patient walking on the floor. maybe they didn't clean the set.

In fracture NOF, quadriceps bulk would be displaced so you'd still get a difference. You'd also need to look out for external rotation. And there's no reason why there'd be significant difference in quadriceps bulk unless some other pathology was going on, which is a notable finding anyway.

Shouldnt really go ASIS to medial due to things like muscle bulk at quads affecting measurements for leg length
