Willie Nelson For President!

Barbara Walters is and always will be a pompous no talent ass. The way she spoke to willie you'd think she were talking to a special needs child.

@LT1HILLINGHOE even two years later, your comment is just ignorant and dumb. Willie has recorded over 60-something albums, he's in the hall of fame, he's probably one of the most widely-known musicians in the world.
So, what have YOU accomplished? hahah... I guess those "old drug using disgraces" are pretty damn successful ;)

i'm listening less and less to anything coming from the media. it all seems tobe nothing but crap.
they make it up as they go.it doesn't matter what they are talking about either.
at first I was not a Willie Nelson fan. my father was and after listening to his music Willie's music has grown on me.Now when I hear it I do not turn it off.

@monster4josh I totally agree!!
-
i wonder if Reagan ever got an urge to light up a huge spliff.
maybe his disastrous "war on drugs" could have been avoided.
but, i digress.
wille is a legend.

Willie is nothing now but a old drug using disgrace. He only had one song worth listening to and that was the one he sung here. Angel flying to close to the Ground." You were always on my mind is definitely not the longest running country song at number 1. That is completely false and Billboard facts back it up. He only one the big award once in '79 of Ent. of the year and that was because Waylon on his records helped him get it. Please....Willie Nelson? LOL I love country but not him.

With Waylon, it was the other way around, my friend.
It was Willie's 4th of July Picnic, and calling Waylon over to play at the Armadillo in '74 that exposed younger folk to Waylon's albums! In '74 Willie produced a Waylon album that was very successful...in '75 Willie hit with "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.

In '76 "Wanted The Outlaws" launched the Waylon & Willie hit duo with "Luckenbach, Texas" and "Good Hearted Woman," with Willie overdubbing his vocals. They followed up with the "Waylon & Willie" album in '77 in the meantime Willie put out solo albums with successful singles. But he broke out in '78 with "Stardust" and a KILLER live album. Selling out arenas with Leon Russell in the meantime and constant touring didn't hurt; by '79 I'd say Willie earned the Entertainer award!

*Also in '79: Willie had released the albums "Willie Sings Kristofferson", "The Electric Horseman-Sountrack," "One For The Road w/Leon Russell," and "Pretty Paper"!
(and recorded duet singles with Ernest Tubb, Ed Bruce, Emmylou Harris, and Hank Cochran)...
...and appeared in two films: "Thief," and "The Electric Horseman."
Willie worked hard that year!!!

Don't make me list all the Willie songs worth listening to--there's too damn many of them! The original recording of "On The Road Again" earned a friggin' Grammy, and is better than the National Anthem, in my opinion!
He's put out so many great albums, I can't buy them fast enough...but for me, it's Willie live that shines best! "Willie & Family Live" is still one of my favorites. I'll never forget when he and the band signed the Lp for me!
