Today Conservative candidate Jason Kenney wished Michael Ignatieff a Happy Tax-iversary. April 14th is a special day for Michael Ignatieff.
Conservative candidate Jason Kenney said, "Today is a special day for Michael Ignatieff -- it's his Tax-iversary -- but a bad day for Canadian taxpayers who should be wary of Michael Ignatieff's job-killing, high-tax agenda."
Two years ago today, Michael Ignatieff unveiled his high-tax agenda, telling a Kitchener-Waterloo audience that, "we will have to raise taxes." (Waterloo Region Record, April 14, 2009).
Last year he celebrated his Tax-iversary by voting in favour of an IPod tax. (House of Commons vote, April 14, 2010).
Conservative candidate Jason Kenney observed that, "you know what they say: A man who will tax an IPod is a man who will tax anything."
Conservatives are reminding Michael Ignatieff of his special day to drive home the choice Canadians face in this election: We will choose between Stephen Harper's low-tax plan, a plan that is working and has created a half a million jobs, and Michael Ignatieff's high-tax agenda which will kill jobs, stall our recovery and set you and your family back.
The Conservative Party also launched a website www.ipodtax.ca which features a new advertisement highlighting Michael Ignatieff's latest tax grab.
