@flyer56 I believe the crew chiefs are armed. all military personal should be armed with a side-arm. Infantry is my cup of tea.

That base that was attacked was a Task force Delta base, thats why it survived lol, bad ass mofo's, 5 people vs 110+ Delta is insane

although the bird itself is unarmed, can the pilots bring rifles onboard with them in case they crash land so they can use them on the ground?

As for these birds being unarmed...that comes with fighting in the military for a country that happens to respect and abide by the Geneva Conv. So God bless our soldiers for willingly doing such a dangerous job so well. As for the interviewer the only downside was her comment to the 60 pilot about his new job "redeeming" himself...as if somehow having a combat job prior to medivac would require redemption...I don't think she meant anything by it but a very poorly chosen phrase.
