Let us all celebrate his contributions, and remember and be humiliated by his sacrifice. In these days, between his death and his birth, a hundred years later, everyone should know this name and story.

As an aside, it is a disgrace that apple inc. has stolen his symbol, vis a vis the half bitten apple. shame to them.

Poor guy - I feel so sorry when I hear about how he was treated. I hope they build him some sort of memorial, which is long overdue.

In Alan's day homosexuals were the target of government sanctioned witch hunts in Britain. Now, different soft targets are chosen and gay people are no longer victimised with official government approval, a long jail sentences and chemical castration.

Will there come a day when all victimless crimes are purged from the statute books... In all countries?

I doubt it. Tyranny is multi faceted and for ever seeking legitimacy in hallowed law books that are the antithesis of natural justice.

All this reminds me of the song, "Vincent," and the line "This world was never meant for someone as beautiful as you."

That was a wonderful portrait of an amazing Englishman. I'd like to see him recognised as our own Einstein or Neil Armstrong. One of our greatest pioneers. It's such a damn shame that we are such a twisted nation. Genius walks among us and we put it in a Courtroom and pump it full of chemicals till it melts away. Tragedy.

Why do you mention St. Andrew's cross. Doesn't it have to do with St. George, the patron Saint of Russia?

Against similar odds, "we" also fomented Democracy, The Renaissance, and The Enlightenment- the 4 major psychoscocial paradigm shifts of Western "Civilisation". And the intraconnective neural band between our temporal lobes is consistently 1/3 thicker than that of a "normal" man. Must be why we're so damned clever with throw pillows. Hope you're enjoying your painting, Dr. Hodges. Best gift I ever mailed to Oxford ;)
