How real is "reality" TV? Three veteran "reality" TV writers reveal how the genre is written and how the networks and production companies use that label to take advantage of those who help create their multi-million dollar shows.
I've had the pleasure of working with two of these three very talented people. Video's both informative and accurate. This and Charlie Brooker's "Screenwipe" installment on reality tv are both worth the watch for folks looking into how reality tv works. I love working in reality tv, and I'll love it more once it's organized.
I think Animal Planet's Pit Boss has helped pulled the curtain back, and really expose the "stage" elements, and scripted moments of reality TV.
