ya i am an applicant for this year that has been nominated and is awaiting appointment, this year only about 1100 cadets will be admitted, our of the 4000 given nomination, out of the 16000 given candidate status, out of the 25000 who applied, its tough

I hope you guys realize how tough the competition is, and it gets even worst every year. By the time @krusecraze is a junior in high school perfect math and reading SAT scores will be a must. Since the government is downsizing the military, the academy will have to accept less applicants.

@krusecraze think about joining jrotc thats what im doing. im currently in the program. my recruiter said it'll help
-
@krusecraze Getting straight A's and playing a varsity sport won't get you in, theres another 13000 people each year who think they're more than qualified applicants.
-
@DynaDuctINC you do realize you have to serve in the airforce after attending the acadeny
-
LAME! I too had dreams. Unfortunately from being a military brat my mindset COMPLETELY changed on this past move. So it looks like no USAFA for me :(
-
if you plan on joining the Air Force, why not come to the Civil Air Patrol now? It's an auxiliary of the Air Force, but it's open to anyone between 12 and 18 years old

@DynaDuctINC i might see you there too im planning on going into the airforce as an officer and i want to go to the airforce academy and do drill team if they have one
Attending Airforce Academy is certainly a big dream of mine. Now that I'm in 8th grade I am going to start planning what I should do to stand out from all other applicants of the academy. I am doing research, getting good grades, about to join sports, and making some decisions. I hope one day that I will hear "You've been accepted to Airforce Academy." It's a big dream I definitely want to reach. Please wish me best of luck! America deserves brave soldiers. I want to be one of those soldiers.

@krusecraze perhaps we will see each other their... My plan is to attend air-force academy, and then, gain a pilots license (civilian), then enter the air force as a pilot. I want to fly F-16s or F-22. If that doesn't work, I'm going to do army warrant flight officer training for helicopters.
