this kit is amazing for everything. and it actually comes with great hardware i don't know why it was skipped over.

Its this kit a low-end beginner kit? I have heard good things about it but it only cost $650. Is this a step up from beginner kits? if yes, how much?

@beaudjangles Im gonna be going to college, I was thinking of buying this kit as my all around kit for my college days. (then next 5-6 years maybe more) would this be a kit to buy or is a kit from yamaha or dw or someone. Im gonna be playing jazz, rock, funk, r&b, techno....anybody I can play with so could I use this kit?
I just got my first ever Gretsch drum set...Catalina Rock Club set witha 26"X18" bass drum...
I have been lucky enough to own a few brands of drums over 20 years of playing...
Ludwig both woods & acylics, Pearl monster double bass kit, Yamaha double bass kit, sonor....
Every kit has sounded great and each set I owned I used a differant brand complete set of matching cymbals....
I like the Gretsch set I own but only because of the larger bass drum sound...

@JBL8863 I wish my kit had a bigger bass drum, but the 18" bass drum comes in handy when I have to play gigs in tight spaces.
