If you look at aerialsandtv.co.uk, you will see that these type of aerials are terrible compare to yagi 18s.

My nan brought one of these from screwfix a few weeks back. I'm only 14 years old and I have obsessions for some of the strangest things (aerials are the main thing) so I thought I would fit it for her. She wanted it in the loft, so I installed it in the loft not reading the assembally instructions and it worked fine until I installed a non-boosted spliter, then we had some problems. Turned out that it was because I had put the thing with the Fconnecter behind the reflectors! I gotta fix it soon

There is actually no such thing as a 'digital aerial'. All aerials will receive digital or analog signal if there is a strong signal.

Let's just call it a high gain multi element tv antenna with a big reflector instead.

It did receive signals from the Mendip transmitter but only consistently the BBC Multiplex which is on higher power than the others. The house in question is in a valley with a housing estate some 50 - 75 feet higher than the antenna which is directly in line with the Mendip signal. It remains pointing at Mendip but really just picks up the Corsham Transmitter signals and the 30 or so channels broadcast from there. With a pre-amp you can get Mendip but only reliable in high pressure conditions.
