Would this be sensitive enough for polar alignment in the Southern Hemisphere?

I'm really looking forward to making one of these. I'm disabled and this would be a great help.
I'm located in the U.S. so I'm not sure what a 99p plumbing part is and the closest we can come to 32mm is a 1.25" inch pvc.
But I think I can get it all to work.
My webcam I'll be trying is a Philips SPC890NC.
Thanks for all the tips.

Hi Dion, I've carried out this mod with a SPC900 but I seem to have a light on the front of the cam that won't turn off...any suggestions?

@michaelgossage You can, if you want, open it up and kill the led, to be honest, I haven't on mine and it has no detrimental effect to performance, but the easy way would be to just put either a piece of tape over it or paint it with nail polish.

I just got my SPC880 in from the UK. I haven't been able to locate a end cap like yours yet. They are not called 99P in the States.

@Thouchins They wont be called a 99p anywhere, that's how much they cost in UK, they are a 99p part, p as in 'pence'. Much like in US saying it's a 90c part.
