Why? 300 million plus of the most awed and powerful country call it soccer. In the states it is soccer. Outside of it then the respect of futbol is justfied. Understand you have Americans commenting and that is what it is called to the red white and blue citizens. soccer, futbol, footie, whatever. The world loves the sport and to have such futile discourse over what the "proper" name for it is, is ignorance exuded at a high level.
