Thought i would show how to check that your 2 stroke is running right and to explain how you would change the mixtures to get the engine running right. Well i learned it off my dad and he tuned, race prepared and everything else 2stroke and older bikes when he used to work in the trade of bikes many moons ago ^^ (next video 'how to tune multi cylinder engines coming soon)

  • Will be sending my IT400 yamaha and RMX 250 Suzuki, FedEx, cod, for you to tune, from the states. Feel free to ride em around when your done ;) lol

  • @MiBurnout Couldn't turn done an offer like that :P lol

  • wat do u do to tune a 2 stroke engine that wont tick over that only runs on full revs and cuts out wen the throttle is let off

  • @lukethekanefan First thing i would check would be the ideal, but no doubt thats already been done. Could be the pilot jet it's clogged up which is preventing the engine getting fuel, so what i would do is take it off and totally clean the carb. Another cause could be a bad crank seal on the stator side which can allow air into the crank throughing off the mixture which happened to my 100 you will find that tuning is near impossible when this happens. Could be other things aswell

  • @kyconic44 ohh yea and the spark plug is chesnut brown exactly like urs in the vid wich is weird considering it smokes like heck wen it runs on full throttle and wont even idle or run on aneything but full revs and then it wont even run for long on full

  • @lukethekanefan Try riching the mixture by 1/4 to half a turn just to see if it makes a difference because it sounds like fuel starvation to me. Iginition timing could also cause an engine to do this if it's out.Hard to say what it could be without hearing it lol

  • @kyconic44 i know very hard to say i myself am in my 1st year of a mechanics course ill try that see if it makes a diffrence we tried riching and leaning it and it refused to start were gunna sell it too much trublle

  • @kyconic44 had the carb off cleaned totally float checked jets checked evrything is perfect condition and its a mini moto so its got no stator i think but thanks for the response it my friends bike so next time im round his i will check the seals and stuff

  • @kyconic44

on a 4 stroke they say salmon pink, on a 2 stroke that burns oil, it must be darker generally, also on diska valves or piston port engines at low rpm u get blowback so air passes carb twice, being 2x as rich!

    more so on racing engines.

we used to change the plug every 10 minutes on the karts or every race, u know the types with no protruding cathode?

cost about £25 each back in 1990!

if u use an oil with octane improver and fully synthetic u may get close to pink?
