Hi there. I know some people have been wondering why I haven't been making new videos for a while, but I've been quite busy with taking a Schoolism course with Jason Seiler. I'm pretty much done now, so I should have time to get back to making videos on a more regular basis. .. But first, I wanted to share some of the work I did from the nine week Schoolism course. I learned so much from the caricature course with Jason. I came in not really knowing how to approach caricature, and I had a real feeling of being lost. But after taking the course I feel I have a much better understanding of how to caricature, and how to exaggerate without losing likeness. I don't consider myself a great caricature artist now, but I certainly don't feel the sense of being lost anymore. I feel I've improved, and hopefully you'll be able to see the progress in my work. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to improve in the field of caricature and learn from a real master caricature artist.

If you're interested in taking the caricature course with Jason, or any other Schoolism course, visit http://www.schoolism.com . Not sure when the next class starts, but you can take the Self Taught classes anytime.

If you're not familiar with Jason Seiler's work, I recommend you check out his website: http://www.jasonseiler.com/ or his blog: http://www.jasonseilerillustration.blogspot.com/

  • i imagine, after studying caricature the next step is to study character creation

i wonder how that works - i remember watching a video about that, he was creating characters for a "the little mermaid in space" animation, a video by Gnomon .. googling ... Visual Storytelling with Iain McCaig: Volume 2: Cosmic Mermaid Character Design

  • @mcasual Oh ya, I've seen that Gnomon video. Iain McCaig is really amazing. I think caricature and character design go hand in hand.

  • my oh my, that was just so enjoyable to watch! were all of these celebs?

  • @TimeBreaker1987 Four celebs, the rest were regular citizens Jason had us draw.

  • What was the music played?

  • @nightbringer90 it's in the description.
