You must not be from here. I live right on the Bayou and If we didn't hunt the gator they would over populate and eat our pets and encroach on our lands. They're not the kinda animal you mess with for fun. They're either food or they're a nuisance. Cajuns have been hunting them for years and they are still on the overpopulation list. Do some research.

I'm glad he took time to explain the difference between one eye, and two eyes, just in case you got confused

He isn't exaggerating his accent. If anything, it sounds like he may actually be trying to speak more clearly for the camera, lol. I have Cajun friends with accents much heavier than his in this video.

No, this has been their way of life LONG before reality TV, or even before TV for that matter. I can say that with certainty because I'm from the same area. I live right near where the show is filmed in south Louisiana. We don't nearly all live out in the swamps and hunt alligators, but some of us do. While a lot of what you see on the show is exaggerated and edited for dramatic effect, the people on the show really do this and have been doing it long before the show Swamp People came along.

I went and watched those videos and those people seemed easier to understand than troy. I suspect he might be exaggerating his accent a little bit. Up north we have accents also. I have relatives In Michigan and they sound a little bit like Canadians. Kind of sounds nasal and a little higher pitch when they talk. They say we have a kind of a slower draw to our voices and talk in a little deeper voice here in Ohio.

I've seen lots of comments by people from other parts of the country who understand Troy and the rest of the cast of Swamp People just fine. Some do, some don't. Hey, I hope you'll do me a favor. Take a look at "Later Gator" and "Cajun Fun in Gator Country" on my channel. Both are filmed right smack in the middle of south Louisiana, where Swamp People is filmed. You won't need subtitles, but can you hear somewhat of the same accent? Please let me know. You'd be doing me a favor. Thanks friend!
