I agree. Best song the 52's ever did. Still brings a tear to my eye. Although I live in California now, the 52's (and REM) remain one of the few reasons I'm proud to be from Georgia.

From what I read it was the record label; always pushing bands into mainstream and some music should just be left alone with their unique sound. I liked the B's first LP's when the music was fun and I got to leave planet Earth for a moment. The Sci-Fi Surfer Punk/New Wave sound was my fave B's.
