@jeffleavell Perhaps it is just a matter of semantics. Of course everyone would say you cannot lose your soul, it is eternal, but I became disconnected from mine, and that I know is possible, because I experienced it. And yes, burnout, exhaustion, repeated 24 hour shifts of intense work in a hospital, let me to a state of despair, disconnection, disempowerement, and dis-ease. It was not perfect. It took a very long time to regain my soul. Read Sandra Ingerman's Soul Retrieval.

Stress - and eventual burnout - are unfortunate outcomes in this fast-paced world we live in. I love this book for its ease of reading, the humor that seems to be so perfectly imbedded throughout, and the depth of authenticity, humanity and compassion expressed by the author, Dr Borysenko. I will personally recommend this book to all of my patients and clients, especially those who are caregivers, solopreneurs, coaches and authors like myself, whose work involves continual giving of oneself.

Really? We lose our souls? This is just the kind of tired, fear tactics that are used to force people to buy their products, but I am extremely disappointed that this would be used by HayHouse. You can not lose your soul. It is eternal, and separate from the day to day life. It is the perfect part. Burn out exists. IT is real. but it does not rob you of your soul. Ever. We are perfect. We are always perfect. Regardless of the outside world. I wish she had not said that.
