@benitosuave I don't think it's either/or. Christ as the sacrificial lamb is both the reconciling price to bring us back into communion with God, but also the confidence we have that we are united again with God. I think Jesus as the lamb of God is for God - in dealing with wrath - and for us - in giving us salvation, and confidence in salvation. Confidence in Jesus' saving work is precisely Faith.

@Cutie9326 I don't want to get into a bickering contest about who knows their history. I just want for everyone to know the true gospel of Jesus.

The mission of Jesus on earth was to save sinners like me, not to affirm that we were already ok. He does it because he loves us, not because he hates us.

@Cutie9326 To say that Hell is a false doctrine is taking away the purpose of Christ's death and resurrection. Man sinned against God. The wages of sin is death. Christ took all that upon himself as propitiation for our sins. We are no longer under God's wrath, but we still will be judged for our actions. Those who do not believe in Jesus will suffer for eternity. Revelation 19 and 20 talks about this. God is love, but love is not God. He will separate those who follow Him and deny Him.

@Nightwing20 You're calling Christ a liar. The Word of God (Jesus Christ) says that God will have ALL men saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Jesus also say that the Father's will (what He wants) is ALWAYS done. Jesus also says that He (Jesus) ALWAYS does the will of the Father. Do the math. Jesus redeemed us all 2000 years ago. It is finished. YOU are calling Christ a liar...

@Nightwing20 The "punishment" is according to our deeds. And that's CHASTISEMENT. Rob Bell is not a heretic. Rob Bell is much closer to the prevailing doctrine in the Christian church for its first five hundred years. Hell is a false doctrine, a pagan myth and a lie and is nowhere found in the original languages of the Bible. Augustine brought it into the church along with pagans (unconverts). The Roman Catholic church is full of heresies and pagan stuff. Damnationists are heretics...

@Nightwing20 Nothing to do with God's wrath, you so don't get it. It was man's wrath. Man was angry with God, man turned His back on God. God never turned His back on man and never ceased to love man. When Jesus died on the cross, God was in Him reconciling the world unto Himself, not reconciling Himself unto the world. God appease man's wrath by sacrificing His Son and Jesus died on the cross to reconcile us to God not to reconcile God to us (see 2 Corinthians and Colossains 1).

@Cutie9326 yes! I agree! Did you read what I wrote?! lol you totally are agreeing with me. You're describing the wrath of God and what Jesus had to do to redeem us. Because of God's grace giving us Jesus we are redeemed to Him. I believe that whole heartily. BUT, Rob Bell is taking that aspect away and just saying that God loves us and there is no punishment for sin. Again, Rob Bell is a heretic. I'm disagreeing with Rob Bell, NOT Jesus Christ.

Lev 1:3-4 reads 'If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he is to offer a male without defect. He must present it at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting so that it will be acceptable to the LORD. He is to lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.'
Rob claims the lamb is for us to show that atonement has already been made. Lev 1 shows that Rob is talking nonsense!!
