Chuckie Egg for the Acorn Electron

It can't be finished from what I found, at least on the Electron. The groups of 8 levels are as follows: birds (1-8), duck (9-16), birds and duck (17-24), extra birds and duck (25-32), extra fast birds and duck (33-40), then I think it repeats extra fast birds and duck again, until the end of time.
The disappointment of finding that level 41 was like level 33 when I got there, is something I do not wish to revisit soon.

I would like to thank you and your brother as this was the very first game ever played as a 4 and half year old and eventually lead me to a degree in games design 20 years later.
I'm wanting to eventually develop my own game based off chuckle egg as a tribute some day ^^
Also I was born in 1983 too lol

Awesome! This and Frak were my favourite games when I was a child.

@naughtytree me too. And it all came from a cassette player on the acorn electron! Unlike most my age (30) I dont play games now.

Huh. I have this on the Spectrum. It's been years since I played it, but I could have sworn the birds couldn't climb ladders...

This is probably the first BBC game I ever played, way back in 1985. I feel quite tempted to 'port' this wonderful game to BB4W (BBC BASIC for Windows).

Ah! The first game I ever played was Chucky Egg! Great fun :D

Used to play this on the Micro a lot, you say it's the same apart from some colour changes but that's not quite right, from what I remember the sounds are slightly different. The running and jumping sounds sound the same but higher pitched, but the pickup sounds are very different, on the Micro the egg in particular made a fantastic crunchy noise that was just satisfying as hell to listen to, as did the score counter when you completed a level.

I think I like the spectrum version more but that's probably only because it's the version I grew up with. At least there's no colour-clash on this version, quite a bit of sprite flicker tho.

Now this is a true classic

@ksportz66 just out of curiosity what did you use to design the egg?
I designed the Egg in this game !!
A&F was co-owned by my brother and I worked there during the summer of '83.

@ksportz66 well it's a very nice egg. Much better than the rubbish ones in the ZX Spectrum version. Where's the little shine on those?

I can proudly say after about 10 years, once I finished Chuckie Egg on the Electron.

I've never been past level 23 (the final level of ostriches + the duck). I've always wondered what happens next...
