@caulinrocker1 you should definitely try it. It would be a nice difference to you. You may only have some difficulties while preparing and applying the varnish which is very different than shellac or factory made varnishes like lacquer. You'll need a soxhlet extractor.

@sarelle500gr a violin with that wouldve looked great but wouldnt of sounded too pleasent ... spruce is the best for a violin due to its responsiveness and weight to stiffness ratio ... very light but very stiff means better resonation ... trust me bearclaw sitka spruce would make a superior violin that looks wonderful as well
i think that percussion is just as good as strings and that person is very talented i think that you shouldn't say that i mean maybe it could have of been something better but it was still very good.
its used to extract the colors of natural ingredients you used in traditional varnish recipes.
