The New York Road Runners hosted the Men's Marathon in New York City, November 3, 2007. Ryan Hall, Dathan Ritzenhein and Brian Sell, the top 3 in a field of 134, were named to the American team. Festivities turned somber with the news that Michigan native Ryan Shay collapsed and died at the 5.5 mile mark.
It is so crazy how easy the top guys make it look. They're running so much faster than all the other guys but they make it look so effortless.

This was a great video. I still can't believe that Ryan Shay died. He'll be missed by the running community.

Great coverage, thank you! A bit eerie seeing the ambulance that was carrying Ryan Shay. Thank you for this video.
