Ugh, that Simon Hughes is a sanctimonious twat, Maggie quite rightfully put him in his place very swiftly!

Amazing strong briliant woman

Watching this, you see how much she enjoyed a good verbal punch up. I almost feel sorry for Dennis that he lived with this for so many years. And you know everyone watching this is regretting that this is the last time they will ever see anything this good.

@ceredigio Shadow cabinet of 1990 included Margaret Beckett (treasury), Jo Richardson (women), Joan Lestor (children) and Ann Clwyd (international development)
-
@thatcheritescot I cant tell but that also look's like a young Harman
-
@ceredigio i think its wrong to compare all female politicians to Margaret Thatcher. Its as stupid as comparing all male politicains to Churchill.

@403766 i see your points, having studied thatcher. its your personal view though, yeh she was successful with trade unions (although she destroyed areas of britain that have never recovered) for those in work thatcher was good as she kept inflation low but those not in work struggled massively as thacther had no belief in society, its how you view the policys. eec rebate was good, she only went against eec towards end of career when delors made it more federal
-
she was spot on with the e.u, all they do is scrub off us, she even mangaged to get our bloody money back.
I wud not say that joining the erm caused the recession atall, but was just a bad choice at trying to recover from it,.
I think your forgetting tha everyone fucks up, and in case u havnt noticed labour are alwyas worse but now i ahve studied economics i have to say thatcher was the best we've eve rhad and disagree with the first part of what you said..

driving away forgien investment which in turn ment less job opportunities, thatcher created 2 million + new jobs avalable, in areas which werent preventing the country from declining as a super-power. The main reason greece is fucke dis due to too strong trade-unions with early retirement and too large social benefits
Interest was high to STOP inflation rising too and consider she pretty much halved it rather quickly.
-
i higly disagree, unemployment rose due to her getting rid of extremely out-dated inefficent companies which were loosing moneya nd striking all the time, which wer eliterlaly the least eficient int he world and compeltely wasting our resources, without the selling of them britain woudl be no-where near as competitive internationally, many workers just slept on night shifts(story from a miner) she stood up to the trade unions like no1 else wud dare, whcih were a huge factor in
-
@403766 no she was very lucky with her economic polices, unemployment rose, interest was high, she only survived due to north sea oil and other privatisations bringing cash in. poll tax, pretty successful economic policy, i think not. cost 1billion of taxpayers money and lsted about a year. joining the erm was also not successful leading to financial collapse in 1992 (not under thatcher but due to her economic policies). run out of space but could go on for days.
-
ar you serious? She overall had the greatest economic policies ever, she brought the country back from the brink of going under...
I can see at least three female Labour front benchers at the start of this clip. I know it's hard to see, but who are they?
