RIP "Innisisri"
Innisisri is one Indonesia's most productive younger musicians, and is best known as a percussion and musical composer. Starting out as a young bass player in his high school in Semarang in the 1970'ies. he started to play the drums too, joining the Yogyanese group The Lheps. In the early 1980'ies, back in Semarang he set up his group The Spiders, as a drummer and made his first albums with the singer of Arnudas, Semarang. After this he moved to Jakarta, working as a musician in one of Jakarta's night clubs, LCC.
Between 2001 and 2008, Innisisri played at the Bali World Music Festival, made more recordings including '25 Musim' with Sircus Barock, Talu-Talu with Jalu and Oppie Andaresta and a CD he made with Kahanan and musician from Banyuwangi was release in Holland. Another tour in Holland followed, this time with musician from Sidoarjo, as a part of the Mundial On Tour programme. with Kalangan he participated in the prestigious celebrations commemorating the historic establishment of Jakarta, or Musik Lintas Budaya show. Innisisri most recent gig is performing at SIEM 2008.
