Alain X, Swiss, now aged 32, who had the misfortune to fall into the hands of Scientologists at the age of 14 when his mother, badly informed, thought that Hubbardian analysis would help him. He spent most of a year at the notorious Mace Kingsley Ranch in New Mexico. In 1994 aged 18 he tried to kill himself by jumping off a road bridge but instead killed a passer-by. At the ranch they had recommended suicide as the best solution to his problems.
