In 2002 the United States took a disasterous turn as it adopted a policy of torturing detainees in the "War on Terror." While the military has ceased this practice, the Central Intelligence Agency is under no such prohibitions. Please ask President Elect Obama to issue an executive order that bans torture in all services of government.

  • Criminal activity must be punished, especially those at the top, who ordered this.

  • This video is true; but it seems to imply that the problem was with the U.S. military, as opposed to government contractors or other federal agencies. In reality, military attorneys spoke out against questionable practices but the Justice Department took a different view. Many people want to see individuals criminally prosecuted but doing so is likely a very bad idea. If agents cannot depend on the guidance they received from DoJ, what is the point of asking for a legal opinion?
