The guy who gets shot, is down in the field for 5 minutes. If not healed by a medic, he bleeds out and has to go back to the respawn area. If a player is not shot, he can "drag" that person who is shot to the location of where a medic is located. It good to keep the medic away from the main action.
This is how the whole situation is handled.

rolsby, it is not mandatory but after few scratches and bumps, you don't take any risks =D

Are helmets mandatory? It seems everyone's got one. Protec, MICH, etc.. Do you have a store that sells them locally?

They have to take them back to base or a medic, depends on where you play, something you walk back yourself but here Im guessing they are trying to make it more realistic; meaning that if you were shot in real life you couldnt walk to a medic or base by yourself, you would need the help of a live play to "drag" or walk you to a revival point.
