Steep documents mountain skiing like youve never seen it before, and it will take your breath away. Opening at the Isis Theater Dec. 21, this documentary tells the story of the people involved in big mountain skiing, a sport which barely existed 35 years ago. The film follows extreme skiers, including Aspens own Chris Davenport, as they literally go the ends of the earth from the Alps to Iceland to climb and ski the worlds steepest and most dangerous peaks in pursuit of the perfect ski moment.
In this piece you will witness the majesty and hear from the legend himself, the late Shane McConkey, who tragically passed away in a ski-BASE accident in the Italian Dolomites on March 26, 2009.
Your spirit never dies - R.I.P. Shane and bless to ya family ... you ve been an extraoridnary skier, basejumper & personality ;)
