Madame Cooke "was a prolific recording artist she started in 1949 and recorded extensively (mainly for Nashboro) until her death in 1967. During her years with Nashboro she almost always recorded with a male vocal group but prior to that made a series of recordings with The Young People's Choir.[1]

  • I thought Mahalia sang this song.

  • Well she might have, but Edna was doing this one. You know everyone would sing the same song with a different twist. Did you check out Edna singing live on youtube? what a treat!

  • How did she die?

  • Heart attack in 1967 from what I read . I will try to pull out some more of her's if you like?
