I'd add that statute law is only given the force of law WITH THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED.
Given the treacherous nature of our government, I wonder why people should continue to afford them that consent?!

@KainGreenman, DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A STATUTE AND A LAW =D

Great Video my friend.
All public servants are just that.Servants by choice.
We need to get good service from them once again, they have been running around like little kids thinking they can do what they want for quite a while now.
We are the Masters, lets not forget that we pay for everything they need, all their equipment, their clothes, their uniforms, their travel, their accommodation, their food, their entertainment, their pensions...the list goes on and on...
So lets remind them who is Boss...

Great video my friend.
For those who may have been conditioned to think otherwise, the police constables, traffic wardens, councilors, road sweepers, bin collectors, members of the justice departments, members of parliament as well as the PM are ALL public servants.
They are servants, they volunteer to serve the community in some role and we the public pay their wages for their efforts. So we need good service from these servants as their Masters.
Its really very simple.
We the public are the Masters

From the sound of his voice I'd say he was a typical 'chip-on-shoulder' guy of a certain type who likes winding officials up when he knows there's little they can do about it. He cannot even speak English with clarity so how does he expect the officers to understand him? He's really just a nobody whose sad little life makes him behave like a naughty child.

You need to learn some manners fella. You ask an unintelligent question too which makes no constructive sense. I have had some basic training in law and I can assure you that even lawyers need to refer to law books from time to time. I'm quite satisfied that the vast majority of police would recognise a criminal offence happening in front of them. Whether that offence was Common Law or a Statute Law is probably irrelevant to the officer.

This police officer was polite and professional despite being rudely interrogated by a puerile questioner whose only goal was to cause ill-placed embarrassment. For the record, all Acts of Parliament create laws, so the suggestion that the two concepts are separate is totally incorrect. Although there are other sources of law, our legislature creates the most.

@northerntrumpeter Correct. Statute/acts are laws. Common law is also law. The origin of a law is irrelevant to whether or not it can be legally enforced, so long as they both have the approval of the Queen, i.e. passed through the Queen's office as statutes always are, or approved by the a Judge on behalf of the Crown by way of case law/precedent.

@markus1990 They are one and the same

Yeah the police are human too. But they're organic robots!
Yep, they looked just like lawyers.
Lawyers, who study law (common law and statutory law) and still have to read up on various segments when they need to find out something.
Little man, get a life.
