It means a lot to me that I remembered to retrieve your email sending me this link on a day when several communities in the UK are ablaze. The flame of your warm, uplifting rhythm is from the same fire as that which enrages some of our youth, but your fingers have the gift of knowing how to caress it with love... Play on my young sister...

My beautiful Sona, I feel so proud to know you. I am so sorry that I took ill when I was meant to be there on stage with you, by your grace and generosity. You know that when you pluck the kora it is the strings of our hearts that you stroke to produce melodies of love, peace and unity.

What a lovely and talented woman! She has taken a bold step forward, across cultural lines. That is risky, but art is not for the timid.
The place of a griot in society is to preserve traditions and to teach. Sona does both.
Seeing her father join her on stage, seeing the pride that he feels was a precious moment.
This goes to my favorites list.

I totally agree with everyone who spoke at the end. This concert went beyond being solely a musical experience, but gave joy to all who attended!
