Roger Federer vs Andy Murray -- Australian Open Men's Final Recap

Roger Federer beat Andy Murray in straight sets to capture the Australian Open title and his 16th career major.

In a previous video I talked about the things Murray needed to do to win this match. He needed to serve well, return well, and apply constant pressure. Unfortunately, Murray wasn't able to do any of those things and that's why Federer won relatively easily.

Thanks to everyone who watched our videos of the course of the Australian Open! We had a lot of fun doing them and plan to cover future tournaments in a similar manner.

Hey great work on everything! One suggestion for the live commentation - placing the score somewhere on your live broadcast would have been especially helpful. Murray had a bad game plan for this one - cerebral BH-to-BH rallies might work against an Isner or a Cilic, but Fed eats up slice for breakfast (there's actually a vid here on YouTube of him trading slice BHs with Youzhny for about 15 strokes).

Crazy thing is that Rog keeps dropping hints to Andy to be more aggressive, and to play with more urgency. It's weird when you see one opponent coaching the other.

If Andy had done all the things you recommended....Fed would of racheted it up a notch and still beat him. Whatever, Murray looked like he was just trying to keep it in play 90% of the time. Anti-climatic...PS: watch out for Cilic in the near future !!

I like Nalbandian. He along with Safin and Haas and Gasquet are amongst the most talented players i have ever seen.

Unfortunatley they were all weak between the ears.

Federer is however the greatest i have ever seen.

Fact1. Nalbandian has a excellent record against Roger(Now to have a good record against a player regarded by many as the GOAT..takes some skill) 8-10.

Fact2.2008 in form Nalbandian beats 1,2,3(Federer,Rafa,Novak) twice in two weeks. Roger has not even done this.Novak commented on this saying he has never played a better in form player.Only Rafa is the other to beat Rog 8 Times or more. Rafa is shit also?

federer pretty much served well, and that separated the margin between the two.
