Thomson has a huge mind, especially at a young age. See the link on “Thomson’s search for Carnot’s Reflections”, in the drop down menu, for a look at his early work in his pre-21 years in the development of thermodynamics. In all likelihood, if Thomson never went searching around the bookstores of Paris looking for Carnot's 1824 manuscript, we would never have had thermodynamics and thus this YouTube Channel. Read David Lindley’s 2004 book Degrees Kelvin for a more detailed look at his life.
