It must be much different live, because the audience seems to enjoy it. The audience must be friends and family. He can play and sing, lots of people can do that.

I have a degree in music performance, in oboe and bassoon, look at my screen name doofus! I think the guy has talent but the song is super boring. It goes nowhere, has no arrival point, the chordal harmonies are uninteresting. The song seems to circle the same uninspiring progressions over and over. Unfortunately, you can't hear the words so I can't begin to guess what he's singing. The mix is terrible, with lots of high end acoustics and very little low end. It makes the sound unappealing.
