The Godfather of Canadian Country Music, (or is he the father? who knows...) Montana Slim doing a classic written by Tex Atchison and Eddie Hazlewood. Also covered by Johnny Bond, Lefty Frizzell, George Jones, Tommy Duncan and almost everybody else. Slim puts a really cool little half-yodel into his delivery when he delivers the chorus punchline.
In 1975 Carter received a special award from RCA for "accumulated salesover 40 years" - maybe the longest time with one record company (albeit off and on) of any country artist.
