However 'centre' comes from latin. It has nothing to do with Canada's Francophone' background. Besides the US, we all spell it the same.

1325–75; Latin centrum, Greek kéntron needle, spur, pivoting point in drawing a circle.

Noah Webster developed the Amer. Dictionary of the English Lang. to try to standardize & simplify British English for a diverse and sometimes poorly educated colonial America.

  • @Slacktoo

Shhhsh, stoned Canadian teenagers have much to teach us.

    Actual history isn't necessary.

  • You're an idiot. Center isn't spelled "centre" in Canada because of French influence, it's because of British English.

  • lol i got a mix between american and canadian accents its weird

  • yea... i think eh is alot like huh in american-english like: so ur sure u did ur homework huh? lol and btw that was really cool how u said centre in french ur really good at both accents lol
