I've been wondering why eq2 isn't more popular. I haven't even gotten to raiding and I love it.

They are two completely different games sharing the same name and world. EQ1 was and is a hardcore mmorpg (this is not meant negative), and there are EQ1 players that expected EQ2 to be just like a more modern version of EQ1. SOE didn't do them the favor, but instead made EQ2 much more casual friendly.
So, EQ2 is in fact a very cool game - but former EQ1 players will not necessarily like it. Give it a try, it's in fact one of the best newer MMORPGs out there, if not the best.

what so different between EQ 1 & EQ 2? I'am considering trying out EQ 2 and buying the expanions... but I keep hearing EQ 1 was alot better and EQ 2 is a epic fail.
Whats wrong with EQ 2? right now I play Warhammer online & LOTRO "part time" but warhammer kinda sucks im considering going back to LOTRO but i already got 3 maxed characters on there and im looking for something new, but I want it too be a solid game sooo with that said is EQ 2 a worth while play or should i stick to lotro?

have you ever even played eq2? and if not (as is suspect), what are you comparing it to? a single-player rpg?

A good observation, but what you are thinking isn't necessarily what others are thinking. Continuity is what players are seeking, and seeing how EverQuest players remember these zones, and expected to see specific creatures, they have had to rework models to fit their story.
