@HUTCHtopher 3 of them are scrapped, 2 in reserv and one is used as a test-bed for the new Bulava SLBM missile for the Borei class Submarine.What will happen to them depends on the financial development.

@HUTCHtopher, 3 Typhoons in the Russian fleet along with 7 Delta IV's and 6 Delta III's giving 16 SSBN's in total however only 1 submarine is kept on constant patrol as of 2010 as is the case with the UK and France but due to the fact there boats are much newer and kept uptodate they are able to maitain the same level of deterrence with just 4 SSBN's each, Delta III's and Typhoons are to be gradually replaced with the new Borei class from 2010 onwards.The USA maintains 14 Ohio SSBN's.

@TheCharlie359 And the Typhoons dont relly caunt, tvw are in reserv without any missiles and the the third is only a test-bed for the Bulava missile. And I think its only 5 delta III now. Also the sevent Delta IV submarine has been rebuilt as a special purpose sub. So in total 11 active SSBNs and one used only for tests.

True aircraft carriers has little use in the Russian navy, mostly political. However amphibious assault ship like the Mistral can be a big help when landing troops from sea. This would have helped russia a great deal in the Georgian conflict in 2008.

Yeah, you are so powerful, but on paper! We see how capable you are as you cannot subdue a defenseless Iraq! You cannot find one man, with all that power! @KOMEDMD не, ну тогда всего много было и кораблей, и бронетехники, и авиации. После того, что испытал наш ВПК в 90-е даже это сравнительно небольшое количество морских "юнитов" не позволяет нам выглядеть такими уж ободранцами. Хотя, согласен, для нашей здоровенной России кораблей надо в разы больше.
