Any developing countries has the right to develop their land. So does Malaysia has the right to plant palm oil to eradicate poverty of its people. Plus, palm oil is more environmentally sustainable as compared to other crops. See the facts and figures here. Also some insights from Dorab Mistry.
Yes developing countries have the right to develop their land. I object to us paying aid to countries who deliberately destroy orangatuns. I also have the right to know what products contains palm oil so I can choose to use a more ecologically friendly cooking medium.

Let's not forget that of the 20% of land devoted to agriculture, 2/3 is for palm oil, leaving a third of this land for the culture of crops. And since the market of palm oil is so lucrative, lets predict that more and more forest land will be destructed in the future for the implantation of palm trees.
