Question out of curiosity. On top of the Icons of the Theotokos holding Christ, & Christ as the Pantocrator. You have the letters, "X" & "B" respectively. What's the reason for this? Do you mind shedding some light on this?

@apdd08 In both Slavonic and Greek, these letters are X (for Kh sound) and V. Khristos Vaskrese=Christ is Risen in all Slavonic Languages. The Greeks use X A (Khristos Anesti). They remain on the iconostas until Ascension Thursday.

@bigboy45454545 cont. I would not say do away with the secular gov. I am critical of what they do that I believe to be immoral and unethical. I also contribute to what I believe is good and make my vote count in that way. I can't speak for the All Saints or the Orthodox Church. But my local Church does not have a minimum to pay to be a member. We hold a blood drive and don't charge the Red Cross for the space. We collect food for the soup kitchen. Where is the evil in that?

@bigboy45454545 A lot of what you read about God in the Old Testament is our human passions projected back at God. God is love; that is one way to help filter out the revelations of God from the revelations about our human passions when you read the bible. Secular society funds planned parenthood which aborts babies; is this state sponsored murder? The US Federal gov sets the minimum wage at 7.25; could you live on that? Is that state sponsored slavery? see cont.

@AFrightfulDream I can't think of a harsher or more unpleasant character in any book of fiction than the God in the first 5 chapters of the Christian bible or the Jewish Torah. A character Christians believe to be real. Genghis Kahn pales in comparison to the atrocities of the most unpleasant character in any book. As a Christian I doubt you've even read it. You're a sap who blindly believes the words of parasite preachers as truth.

@Larryinct I have read the bible unlike about 90% of Christians as statistics show. If anyone is appealing to authority it's Christians. However this authority has never been indicated (God). Please tell me your understand of the bible when it speaks of talking snakes, rib-women, living in whales and a great flood caused by God which never happened? Is this the truth you speak of Larry? Can you make this out and find the truth in this link below?

@bigboy45454545 Yes, the "we" was ambiguous, I meant the government by and for the people. If you don't know how to read and understand the Bible you can certainly come up with a justification for just about anything; especiallly pointing out one verse or phrase as an appeal to authority. As the video points out many got it so wrong that God had to come in the flesh to try and straighten it out, but many of those in power did not want to accept the correct understanding.

@Larryinct Who is "we" create many laws to protect people? Certainly this is not the church. Secular society makes laws. Thankfully these laws have nothing to do with the teachings in the bible. Your bible is full of hate and intolerance and bigotry. With your God orchestrating murder, rape, torture, child abuse, genocide, slavery, and more on a vast level for his precious Jews against others. Your God is imaginary. Christianity like other religions teach intolerance. It's us against them.

@bigboy45454545 Hi, I am not sure if you are saying we can't help but become good people because of our ability to feel good about doing good things or if you being sarcastic about pairing up good feelings with being a good person. For the former I would disagree with the validity of the assertion. We create to many laws to protect people from other people; sexual harassment laws, family medical leave, 40 hour work week, restricting child labor, defining/making illegal child abuse to name a few.

Fear outweighs anything for a Christian. Fear of Hel is why Christians believe the nonsense they were taught. Because magic Jesus is in the soul saving business and business is good for parasite preachers. The real good news is there's no evidence for your fairytales and the magic sky fairies don't actually exist. But be a good person anyways, besides biology has made you want to be that way because it makes you feels good.
