Sling box IS available on it, many other interesting apps are available too. It definitely won't come out with thousands of apps like the iPhone has now but the apps I heard about sound alot better than... say.. fart piano.. Maybe the apps on this phone will actually be useful for serious people.
I have used the Telenav app on a few different Sprint phones and had a chance to try Google maps on the iPhone and the Verizon nav app on a few phones.
Based on those comparisons, the Telenav app is by far the best. It is actually usable as a replacement for an in-car navigation system. The 3D maps and turn by turn voice prompts make that app a real winner. In fact, it is just about the only Sprint app that is worth a damn.
'm gonna be honest. I don't want the nascar app, I don't want the navigation app (I assume it Telenav) I do just fine on my blackberry pearl with the Google maps program (also assuming google maps will be available and just as effective as they are now).. Will I be able to delete those unused app to save space?
Along with that, how much memory do these native apps take up? Is it worth my time to delete them if the process is troublesome?
im gettin it for a grad present:DDD

Will there be an "App Store" for over-the-wire download of new applications developed by the community?

Zionixi the applications will prob. have a way to be removed but to be honest, with 8 gigs of space, you will have plent of space left over.
