filmed over a couple of years in Oxford back in the 90's and re-edited recently, this is a super 8mm short. St Giles funfair takes over the centre of Oxford for a few days each September and amid the dreamy spires chaos is king for a short time. The Rolling Stones track seems to me to capture something about the disconnected experience of a street fair and it's strange vibe - spacy and familiar at the same time
@SimonLiddo hi Simon thanks again, sorry for the radio silence, been editing a new film on Bermondsey Antiques Market over the past few days. How was the fair this year...?

Getting up at 3am to film the build up in Oxford... now that's true dedication Kevin! I've actually saved this video as a favourite. I know the fair very well and will be filming it next week. I also travel around Europe filming many fairs myself but have to say what you've acheived is something different. There is a sense of meloncholy in your work that I love. Perhaps it's the 8mm? You have a real creative talent Kevin. Do you have other work you can upload? Best wishes, Simon

Love your interpretation of the St Giles. Really original and the 8mm film lends it an appropriately grainy feel. Brilliant!
