This is the first of a number of parts of a long interview Sebastien Foucan (founder of Freerunning) conducted with David Belle (founder of Parkour) earlier in the year.

They sat together in front the of the Dam du Lac, the statue in Lisses which was played a vital role in the evolution of Parkour and talked about their history, their philosophies and how they see the world as it is today.

Great Interview To be honest. Glad to have the best founders back together. And yes I agree with David 100%. It is true that the majority who practise parkour, lost the real meaning and sense of this education. It's a thing lost due to the proudness of people and media involvement :(

I believe most of us have lost our path, we just need a wake up call to get back on it. Parkour is a way of life for me, I will never take it for granted, and I will dedicate my life to learning and teaching the ways of this discipline.

I remember often watching them with some another guys training, before they become popular and even today sometimes we can see some guys or girls havin fun despite the access of the structure behind is forbidden. They used to say me as kid, to keep out from the cuz we may attract the police lol

That's a brilliant interview right there, and I think they really hit the nail on the head with what Parkour or Free Running is - it's entirely individual. You can class yourself if you want but really, those who love it are those with something unique to express regardless of who your idol is or what you call it
