We have a dream of releasing our upcoming fifth album -- All My Lovely Goners, coming out in February of 2012 -- on luscious, hi-grade vinyl, complete with bonus tracks, lovely expanded artwork, and other yet-unforeseen extras.

While our awesome label, Signature Sounds, has given us great support over the years since 2005 when our first album came out, (four albums thus far, not including this one) it's enough of a cottage industry that sometimes the cost of making a deluxe vinyl version is too great. Hence we've decided to go to you, our fans, to ask for a bit of help making this happen.

We've received many, many requests to do this over the years and simply haven't had to means to do it -- until now, with this tool, Kickstarter.

Why vinyl, some of you fans may ask? Aside from the obvious plus in terms of artwork, and arguably the sound, releasing our music on vinyl brings the wispy, ephemeral nature of digital music these days back down to earth in something of real, tangible value. Something to see on a shelf or a table from across a room and it catches your eye. Something you hold in both your hands and open up, and explore, while the music plays. Those that love vinyl already know this; those that have forgotten may like to be reminded; those that have never known are in for a treat. Also, did you know that vinyl sales rose 39% last year - more than any other part of the music business?

And -- this is something many fans (and us too) have been aching to do for some time.

The $7k we are looking for would cover the costs of mastering the album for vinyl, pressing it and shipping it, expanding & creating beautiful art for it, and making all kinds of accompanying materials, such as posters, t-shirts, lyric books, and more. As a participant you will of course receive all of these things -- and more!

We are planning on releasing the vinyl on Record Store Day - April 21, of this year.
